While most players went with expected choices—like WNBA icon Diana Taurasi and tennis legend Serena Williams—others showed support for their alma maters or personal connections, such as Grayson Allen, who picked his wife, former soccer pro Morgan Reid Allen.
Then came Durant’s turn, and his answer quickly raised eyebrows. Without hesitation, the Suns forward confidently named Angel Reese as his choice.
While Reese had an impressive rookie season in the WNBA with the Chicago Sky, few would rank her among the greatest female athletes of all time just yet. The unexpected selection immediately fueled speculation that Durant’s comment was more than just an appreciation of her game—leading many fans to wonder if there’s a deeper connection between the two.
