For years, Jason Kelce fought battles in the trenches as a dominant center for the Philadelphia Eagles. Now, in retirement, he has found himself in a new kind of fight—this time, with his own neighbors.
Kelce and his family have been steadily expanding their property in Haverford Township, a Philadelphia suburb, since 2018. Their most recent plans include building a fourth home, enhancing security measures with a fence, and making several modifications to the land. However, not everyone in the neighborhood has been on board with his vision.
Neighbors Object Over Environmental Concerns
Kelce’s proposed upgrades faced strong opposition from some local residents, who raised concerns about potential flooding. The core issue revolved around the Kelces’ plan to remove slopes and level portions of the land, which neighbors feared would increase water runoff and negatively impact surrounding homes.
Despite the pushback, Kelce took his case to the local zoning board, where he emphasized his family’s commitment to the community and the unique security needs they face due to their celebrity status.

Kelce Defends His Plans, Wins Zoning Approval
Speaking at a zoning board meeting, Kelce reaffirmed his love for the area while making it clear that security was a top priority for his family.
“We want to be in this area, we like this area a lot,” Kelce said, per NBC affiliate WGAL.
“Obviously, things for my family are quite unique with the security purposes. We’d like to just deter a little bit of the foot traffic coming in and out of the home.”
After reviewing the case, the zoning board ultimately ruled in Kelce’s favor, granting approval for the construction with the condition that stormwater management measures are implemented to mitigate potential flooding risks.
Kelce’s Expanding Estate
Kelce and his wife, Kylie Kelce, have been quietly purchasing adjoining properties in their community over the past six years.
- The ten-acre Kelce compound currently consists of three properties, which they reportedly plan to demolish and replace with a luxury mansion as the estate’s centerpiece.
- The Kelces have invested nearly $6 million in these three properties since 2018.
- In addition to their Pennsylvania estate, the family also purchased a $2.2 million beachfront home on the Jersey Shore in 2023.

A Busy Year for the Kelces
Kelce’s off-field life has been just as eventful as his playing career. Following his retirement from the NFL, he has transitioned into broadcasting, wrapping up his first season as an analyst for ESPN. He also continues to enjoy massive success with his New Heights podcast, co-hosted with his brother, Travis Kelce.
Meanwhile, Kylie Kelce has stepped into the media space herself, launching her own podcast, “Not Gonna Lie.”
Looking Ahead
With zoning approvals in hand, the Kelces can now move forward with their estate expansion—a project that has been years in the making.
However, given the neighborhood tensions, it remains to be seen whether this will be the last hurdle they face or if further pushback from residents will arise in the future.
